While it may seem like a great idea to have your horoscope sent to you every day, or a new ringer or picture every week or so, many people don't understand what these things are doing to their wireless bill.
When you sign up for a service like this, typically the fact that it will cost you $9.99 or more per month isn't presented up front. Once you sign up and get your ringer, horoscope, or picture, you'll be billed every month until you contact the company to cancel. Herein lies the problem, who do you call to cancel? The company you signed up with has nothing to do with your cell phone provider, and if you call your cell phone provider, they won't help you.
There are many places you can sign up for these services, social networking sites such as Facebook and Myspace are huge venues for these charges; take a quiz, enter your phone number a your signed up, whether you knowit or not! TV commercials that boast text message "answers" to all your questions often hide their associated $10-20/month charge from plain sight.
There's really only one way you can stop these charges from happening on your business accounts: Call the RPA Helpdesk and ask that a "3rd Party Restriction" be placed on either your entire account or just for specific numbers.
